Download the free Cultural Rigor Screening Tool, developed by Dr. Karen A. Scott, MD, MPH, FACOG, on May 6, 2020 and published March 17, 2022 as appendix S3. The tool is designed to design to evaluate any practice, process, procedure, program, policy, or publication qualitatively and quantitatively for the presence of CR.

In 2020, Dr Scott developed a CR Screening Tool to evaluate any practice, process, procedure, program, policy, or publication qualitatively and quantitatively for the presence of CR. Specifically, the CR screening evaluates institutional or system alignment with and accountability to the feelings, thoughts, expectations, experiences, priorities, and/or activism of Black women, girls, and gender expansive individuals and other  women and people of color. Depending on capacity and interest, one can apply the Brief CR screening tool (a total of eight questions) or the Full CR Screening tool (application of all 20 screening questions depending on the number of items to screen and the number/capacity of screeners).
